Letterpress

In spring of 2018, I took an introductory letterpress elective and fell in love with wood and metal type, with the physicality of printing, even the constant math involved. My digital type layout was strengthened by measuring actual points and picas, and layering ink and paper challenged my sense of how colors interact. I learned to set type and cuts, print linocuts and polymer plates, and to operate cylinder and platten presses.
